Pokemon TCG Pocket | PVP Event | Melmetal vs. Wigglytuff EX – Hypno

The recent Pokémon TCG Pocket PVP Event saw an electrifying match as Melmetal and Farfetch’d pulled off a stunning victory against a formidable Wigglytuff EX-Hypno deck. With strategy, resilience, and a touch of luck, this unlikely duo showcased the power of tactical gameplay.

Farfetch’d Steals the Spotlight

Farfetch’d, often underestimated due to its modest attack, proved to be the MVP in this intense battle. Armed with its sole attack, Leek Slap, capable of dealing 40 damage, Farfetch’d managed to dismantle the opponent’s opening Pokémon lineup with precision.

  • First Knockout: Farfetch’d swiftly knocked out the opponent’s Jigglypuff before it could evolve into its EX form.
  • Second Knockout: Following its first victory, Farfetch’d turned its sights on Drowzee, delivering another decisive blow with Leek Slap.

The Opponent’s Counterattack

The opponent sought to regain control by utilizing Hypno’s ability, Sleep Pendulum, which has the potential to put the active Pokémon to sleep. However, luck was not on their side as Sleep Pendulum failed twice, allowing the battle to continue unhindered.

As the tide began to shift, the opponent evolved Jigglypuff into the powerful Wigglytuff EX, a formidable threat that could have turned the match in their favor. However, this evolution came too late to overcome the tactical edge of Melmetal and Farfetch’d.

Melmetal’s Heavy Guard Shines

Melmetal, the steel titan of the deck, played a crucial defensive role with its ability Heavy Guard, which reduced all incoming damage by 20. This ability neutralized much of the opponent’s attack potential, effectively blunting Wigglytuff EX’s offensive power.

The Winning Play

The match reached its climax with a decisive move. Using Sabrina, a strategic supporter card, the opponent’s Hypno was forced into the active spot, and Farfetch’d was swapped out for Melmetal. This shift left the opponent without a viable response to Melmetal’s overwhelming defense and unyielding presence. Unable to recover, the opponent conceded, sealing the victory for Melmetal and Farfetch’d.
